Congratulations to our 2006 AFC Academy boys - another 1st place finish in the NorCal Premier Level League!

The 2005 AFC girls had a great tournament in Las Vegas this past weekend where they came together as a team both on and off the field.

They had 4 very exciting games where they came from behind in two games to finish up with an unbeaten record scoring 7 goals and conceding 4. The final was a very intense affair where after 70 minutes of soccer (including overtime) there was nothing to separate the two teams. AFC were victorious where the girls that took penalties held their nerves to give the team its first tournament win in two seasons.

Davis Legacy Premier Cup

After winning their group and going unbeaten the team faced Davis 06 Red in the final. The final was a very close match up with both teams displaying defensive organization and intensity. AFC 06 eventually winning 1-0.

Coaches David Barrett and Ian Sweeney were delighted with the boys focus and character. The team is looking forward to getting back to practice and focusing on their upcoming league and state cup games.

Davis Legacy Premier Cup

The AFC Academy 2003 Girls team coached by Ray Head took the Championship in the top bracket at the Davis Legacy Premier Cup this past weekend. On their way to the Final, the girls beat California Odyssey 3-1 and San Juan SC 2-0 and tying hosts Davis Legacy 0-0.

The girls fought off a tough Granite Bay FC 2-0 in overtime in the Championship game. With the game tied at 0-0 in regulation time, Goalkeeper Audrey Hardtke made an outstanding point-blank save with 10 seconds left on the clock that would have seen the girls lose the game. Paulina Peltola and Bella Boitano, each with great 25-yard strikes in either half of overtime, grabbed the goals that sealed the victory for AFC!

Central Valley Surf Champions Cup

The AFC 2000 Boys coached by Mark Savvides managed to win their final 2-0 at the Central Valley Surf Champions Cup. The team only conceded 2 goals throughout the weekend on their way to becoming champions.

Ballistic Summer Classic Champions

After going unbeaten in the group stage scoring 8 goals and not conceding a single goal. The team was set to play local NPL rivals Mustang Santos 04 in the final.

The boys came out on top with a 2-0 victory maintaining their perfect defensive record. Goalkeeper EJ Mc Grew and his defensive unit with their 4th straight shutout. An outstanding individual goal from distance from Sid Chatterjee in the first half was double by Angel Fernandez after great individual skill and service from William Rodriguez.

The team and coach David Barrett will now prepare for the start of NPL 1 league play.

Ballistic Summer Classic Champions

AFC 2004 Boys (Coach David Barrett) clinched the Ballistic Summer Classic for the second year in a row. The final was a repeat of the 2016 final against a very strong Mustang side. The match was a thriller with the game going into double OT where Torin Volkamer scored the decisive golden goal with 3 minutes left to win the game 3-2.

The team showed incredible heart and played some outstanding soccer over the weekend.

A Perfect Fall Season

Congratulations to our CVM Academy 04 Boys and coach Dave Barrett on a perfect fall season. The team won 10 out of 10 games in the NorCal Region 3/4 PREMIER Division! The team also qualified for the Nor Cal State Premier bracket and will battling it out with the top 32 teams come January. What a great achievement for this academy team and the coach in their first season together - very well done boys!
